These terms cover your use of GridTradingDesk, a browser game at gridtradingdesk.com. By creating an account or playing the game you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. Who we are

GridTradingDesk is built and operated by Pacedall Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 16619412), registered office 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ ("we", "us", "our").

2. The service

GridTradingDesk is a simulation game. You play as the trader, scheduler and optimiser for "UK Energy Co", a fictional power generation business — running coal, gas, wind, solar, hydro and battery plants against a computed merit-order market. Some modes ("Live UK Data" Challenge Days) use real, publicly published UK electricity market data for realism, but the game itself, UK Energy Co, and everything that happens in it is fictional. It is not a real energy supplier, a trading platform, or connected to any real market or real money beyond the subscription fee described below.

3. Accounts & eligibility

You can play a limited amount without an account. An account (email + password, with an optional email one-time-code step) is needed to save progress across devices, take part in leaderboards and Challenge Days, and subscribe.

You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for anything that happens under your account. Tell us straight away (see Contact) if you think someone else has access to it.

The service isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect accounts from anyone under that age. If you're under 18, you'll need a parent or guardian's permission to start a paid subscription.

One account per person, please — accounts are not transferable and leaderboard/Challenge Day results should reflect your own play.

4. Free trial & billing

The full game is free to play for 7 days from when you sign up — no card required to start. After the trial, continuing to play the full game costs £4.99/month, billed until you cancel. You only need to enter payment details if you choose to keep playing after day 7.

Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe. We don't see or store your card details — Stripe handles that directly, and you can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings, which opens Stripe's own billing portal.

You can cancel whenever you like; cancelling stops future billing but doesn't refund the current billing period, except where required by law (for example, UK consumer rights around distance-selling cooling-off periods, which we honour). If something's gone wrong with a charge, contact us (see Contact) and we'll sort it out.

Prices are shown in GBP and may change from time to time — we'll give existing subscribers reasonable notice before any change takes effect for them.

5. Acceptable use

Play fair. Specifically, please don't:

  • Try to manipulate leaderboards, Challenge Day scores, or streaks through automation, multiple accounts, or exploiting bugs;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the game, its accounts, or its underlying systems;
  • Scrape, resell, or republish the game, its content, or the underlying grid data feeds it uses, beyond ordinary personal use;
  • Use the service for anything illegal, or in a way that could reasonably harm the service or other players.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

6. Your data & content

What data we collect and how we use it is covered in full in our Privacy Policy. In short: your game save, account details, and any feedback you send us are yours, you can export them at any time from account settings, and you can delete your account (and the data tied to it) whenever you like.

Everything about the game itself — its design, code, artwork, the GridTradingDesk and UK Energy Co names and branding — belongs to Pacedall Labs Ltd or its licensors. Playing the game doesn't give you any rights to that beyond using it as intended.

7. Not financial advice

GridTradingDesk is an educational simulation, not financial, investment, or trading advice, and nothing in it should be treated as a real energy price, a real market signal, or a recommendation about any real-world investment or purchase. Where the game uses real UK grid data (Live UK Data / Challenge Days), that data is used for gameplay realism only.

8. Availability & changes

We do our best to keep the game available and your save data safe, but we can't promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free — it's built and run by a small team. We may add, change, or remove features (including free-tier limits) from time to time; we'll try to give notice of anything that meaningfully reduces what a paying subscriber gets.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, GridTradingDesk is provided "as is". We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses (like lost profits or lost data from something outside our control), and our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is capped at the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited — for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.

10. Termination

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, or discontinue the service with reasonable notice. If we discontinue the service entirely, we'll aim to give active subscribers at least 30 days' notice.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally — for example as the service changes or the law requires. We'll update the "last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll try to let signed-in users know (by email or an in-game notice). Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you're a consumer living elsewhere, mandatory consumer-protection laws of your own country may still apply.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms, or anything else — reach us via the feedback form, or by post at Pacedall Labs Ltd, 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.
